Q: Hello, Junha Lee, how are you doing today?

I’m doing well, thank you. Last week, I won 5,000 won in the lottery. It feels like this week might be a lucky week too.

Q: Luck you, indeed! Could you introduce yourself briefly to our readers?

I’ve been interested in computers since I was a kid. Although I used to dream of becoming a game developer, I ended up majoring in Special Education at the Teachers’ College due to certain circumstances. After graduation, I worked as a Special Education teacher. But my passion for learning new things made me decide to leave my stable position as a teacher and pursue a career in computer-related fields, which had always intrigued me. I studied C# and Unity engine, and now I work at GG56, currently responsible for maintaining the FingeRate app.

Q: That’s nice! You’re following your dreams! How about your tasks? What do you do exactly here?

I’m currently in charge of maintaining the FingeRate app, which is developed with the Unity engine. As we plan to launch the FingeRate app in many countries, I’m translating and implementing language adjustments for each country. Additionally, I address issues such as responsive UI, app performance improvement, and various bug fixes. I’m also actively involved in suggesting strategies to enhance our app’s development, considering perspectives from both developers and users.

Q: And what do you sometimes find challenging in your job?

The most challenging aspect is the lack of a proper mentor, which makes it difficult to solve technical issues. However, we still overcome these difficulties by sharing ideas and solving technical problems all together. Also, since we don’t have a backend developer in the company, it poses some challenges for app maintenance. To address this, I’m studying and receiving support from the company.

Q: It indeed seems like it is something problematic! And what do you find the most rewarding about your job?

I’m really happy whenever I solve a problem! It is like a shot of dopamine right in my body!

Q: Could you also tell us more about the interview process at GG56? How was it?

They (the company) asked about my portfolio and the project I was most confident in. I highlighted a team project where I got a silver award during an ICT competition, where we implemented a login function using a database.

Q: And to conclude this interview, could you tell us what is your favorite app and why?

I would go with Netflix! High-quality videos for a few bucks? Sign me in!

This marks the end of our third interview! Keep an eye on our social media (LinkedIn and Facebook) and blog for more insights into our team here at GG56 Korea.
